How do you put on a bicycle helmet correctly?
1: Position the helmet so that it covers your forehead – see figures 1a & 1b.
2: A correctly fitted helmet should feel comfortable, must not slip forwards or obstruct your field of vision, and must also cover the back of your head to ensure it remains protected.
How do I adjust the strap?
1: The front and rear straps should cross beneath and in front of the earlobe – see figure 2.
2: Slide the strap buckle open – see figure 3.
3: Position the helmet correctly on your head and adjust the straps so that the buckle is in the correct position and the straps are tight.
How do I adjust the chin strap?
1: Tighten the straps and fasten the chin strap buckle – see Figure 4 for fastening and Figure 5 for unfastening.
2: Position the chin strap under your jaw, against your throat – see Figure 6. The chin strap must be tightened sufficiently so that the helmet sits securely on your head, without you feeling as though your throat is being constricted.
IMPORTANT: All helmet adjustments must be carried out whilst the helmet is correctly positioned on the head. Incorrect adjustments or incorrect positioning of the helmet could result in inadequate protection.
